2022 WSGA Senior Amateur Championship Paradise Valley CC- September 10 - 11

Karen Davis is the WSGA Women’s Senior Amateur Champion with scores of 80- 80 for a total of 160.

The Wyoming Golf Association wishes to thank Bruce Johnston and all of his staff for being such great hosts for the WSGA Senior Amateur.

John Hornbeck is the WSGA Senior Amateur Champion with scores of 69 – 73 for a total of 142. Executive Director Dave Snyder presents the Trophies to Hornbeck.

Flight Winners

Karen Holcomb won the Women’s 1st Flight with scores of 87- 92 for a total of 179.

Rich Gleason won the 1st Flight with scores of 80 – 75 for a total of 155.

Tom Baker won the 2nd Flight with scores of 76 – 75 for a total of 141.

Rachelle Pearson won the Women’s 2nd Flight with scores of 90- 89 for a total of 179.

Becky Mikel won the Women’s 3rd Flight with scores of 92 – 90 for a total of 182.

Wes McKenney won the 3rd Flight with scores of 80- 72 for a total of 152.

Daniel Morgarieidge won the 4th Flight with scores of 79- 84 for a total of 163.

Victor Lucero won the 5th Flight with scores of 85 – 84 for a total of 169.

2022 WSGA Fourball Championship - - Lander Golf Club - August 20 21

The team of Jaren Calkins and Brock Ehler are the 2022 WSGA Fourball Champions. They narrowly defeated Klinton Krieger and Jared Butler. Calkins and Ehler had rounds of 63 – 67 for a total of 130. Krieger and Butler were right behind with 67 – 64 for a total of 131

The team of Kolby Wells and Steve Hockett won the First Flight with scores of 6971140. Close behind were Terry Berg and Dan Howlett scoring 72 – 70142

Sara Huber and Dale Kostur won the Mixed/Women’s Flight. Right behind them for 2nd Place were Brian and Christie Wornkey. Huber/Kostur had rounds of 71 – 69 for a total of 140 while Wornkey/Wornkey shot 71 – 70 – 141.

Three-Person Scramble - July 30 - 31

Kendrick Golf Course, Sheridan

Winners of the Three-Person Scramble are Garrett Mortimer, Brandon Rideout and Aaron Nirider. Their 2-day gross total was 117. They had rounds of 61 – 56.

First Flight Winners in the Gross Division are: Bob Sizemore, Ed Blackman and Dave Knutson. Their 2-day gross score was 132They had rounds of 67 – 65.

Winners of the Gross Mixed/Women’s Flight are Jeff Vail, Michelle Rideout and Aaron Grosch. Their 2-day gross total was 119. They had rounds of 60 – 59.

Winners of the Net Mixed/Women’s Flight are Kolbey Wells, Val and Tooney Layton Their 2-day gross total was 111. They had rounds of 53 – 58.

2022 WSGA Couples Championship

Jesse and Jennifer Lind (left) were Low Gross in the Mount Rushmore Flight with a two-day total of 134.
Lauren and Brandon Williams (right) were low net. Their two-day total was 127.

Matt and Denise Ebzery (left) were Low Gross in the Yellowstone Flight with a two-day total of 134.
Tim and Cindy Marton (right) were low net. Their two-day total was 124.

Dave and Jill Balling had a two-day total of 139 for Low Gross Honors in the 77 Steakhouse Flight.

 

Andrew and Jessi Waring  were Low Net winners in the77 Steakhouse Flight with a two-day total of 122.

Dustin and Brooklyn Materi had the Low Gross in the Devils Tower Flight with a two-day total of 130.

Ronnie and Kaylee Stewart were low net winners in the Devils Tower Flight. Their two-day total was 123.

2022 Pacific Coast Amateur Team Representing the Wyoming State Golf Association on July 19-22, 2022 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland Oregon.

Preston Summerhays (left) from Scottsdale, AZ qualified with rounds of 69 – 69 for a total of 138. Preston plays for Arizona State.

Stewart Dillon (right) from Fort Collins, CO also qualified with a first-round score of 70 and a second-round score of 68 for a total of 138. Stewart plays for Oklahoma State. Both players have qualified for the US Amateur to be played at The Ridgewood Country Club, Paramus, N.J. on August 15 – 21, 2022.

2022 Girls Junior Americas Cup

The following are the qualifications to represent Wyoming at the 2022 Girls Junior Americas Cup at Green Meadows Golf Club in Helena, Montana July 24 to July 28.    Players will be chosen from a combination of high school and WSGA/WJGT scores, personal statement and essay.  There will be a strong emphasis on choosing participants that have not already signed to play golf in college.   The tournaments listed are heavily suggested but not required for this year’s picks.   If you have any questions, please email Rachelle Pearson at [email protected] or call at 307-660-9828

1.    Send a personal statement and a short essay:  “How would you get more young people involved in the game of golf?”

2.    Junior World Qualifier on June 6 and 7 at Jacoby Golf Club

3.    Junior Tour Event on June 13 and 14 at Kendrick

4.    Match Play on June 9 – 11 at The Golf Club at Devils Tower

5.    Wyoming State Junior Amateur on June 20 and 21 at Riverton

6.    Women’s State Am on June 24 – 26 at Buffalo Golf Club

If you are chosen for the Wyoming Team, you will be required to do the following:

  1. Sell 100 raffle tickets
  2. Attend the Wyoming State Golf Association Hall of Fame Banquet
